• PCH enquiries up 25% year on year
  • Volkswagen T-Roc leads the way
  • Average rental is £328
  • Average term of two years/5,000 miles

WE’VE already reported that the new car market is a complex piece of work, currently running at two speeds. Fleet sales speeding ahead; private sales disappearing

But that doesn’t hold true for personal leasing. According to the latest data from the leasing deal aggregator, Leasing.com, the website had seen enquiries up by 25% compared with May last year, and that’s despite the expected half-term dip at the end of May.

Paul Harrison, Chief Partnerships Officer at Leasing.com, said:

“Total enquiry volumes on Leasing.com were up by a quarter in May compared to May 2023. The average PCH monthly rental selected by consumers was £328 and most motorists preferred a two-year term with a 5,000 annual mileage allowance. The Nissan Qashqai could not recover the top spot in our monthly league table from the Volkswagen T-Roc which held onto its crown for the second consecutive month while the Suzuki Swift finished May as the third most popular car.”

Market watch special: Suzuki Swift

The Suzuki hatchback saw its popularity soar in May thanks to some keen funder pricing promoted via a number of broker partners on Leasing.com. Rentals started from an astonishing £123 per month.
