TOM Carney is appointed Managing Director of Jameel Motors, the UK distributor that will be selling the Farizon SV electric van.
Farizon, a Chinese brand and a subsidiary of Geely, says the SV was designed for Europe and was recently awarded the highest ‘Platinum’ safety rating from Euro NCAP. UK sales start in Q1 2025, with first deliveries slated for Q2.
Ahead of that, Jameel Motors is assembling the management team to lead the roll out of the fully electric Farizon van (pictured below).
Tom Carney is the new Managing Director, who joins from Inchcape where he spent 11 years most recently as Commercial and Retail Operations Director.
Other roles at Inchcape included Retail Operations Director for Audi, BMW and MINI, and Franchise Director for the Audi division.
Prior to Inchcape, Tom was a Centre Principal at Porsche Centre Bolton.
“After years of strengthening and developing the UK presence of some of the world’s most established brands, it’s an exciting challenge to lead the introduction of a new brand and a fantastic new product. Jameel Motors has an enviable track record of establishing new operations around the world to the highest standards and I look forward to using all my experience to achieve the same in the UK.”
