HOW willing are people to put their hands in their pockets? What impact has the change in government had on the economy? Will 2025 bring sunshine and optimism? Or rain clouds and despair?

These are some of the questions set to be addressed in the Economic Outlook keynote session at the BVRLA’s Leasing Broker Conference this October. The Sunday Times’ renowned economics editor, David Smith, will give delegates a detailed overview of the current landscape before presenting what is on the horizon for next year.

Ahead of the new Chancellor delivering the Autumn Budget on 30 October, David will give a status update and forecast for the UK’s key economic indicators as we go into 2025. He will look at what is going on with inflation, employment, interest rates, business and consumer confidence, tax burden, and how the change in government may impact the nation’s borrowing and deficit.

The keynote address will be followed by a short Q&A, giving leasing brokers in attendance the chance to get more detail on the issues that matter most to them.

Toby Poston, BVRLA Director of Corporate Affairs, commented: “David Smith is a trusted expert on the UK economy. Having somebody with their finger on the pulse, analysing the latest trends, bolsters our agenda to ensure that attendees will leave with a fresh understanding of how the country is faring and what that means for leasing brokers.”

The 2024 Leasing Broker Conference is taking place on Tuesday 01 October at the Eastside Rooms in central Birmingham. Broker News is the media partner and QV Systems is the headline sponsor. Supporting sponsors include Carmmunity, Fleet Procure, Voyc, and Webfleet.

Tickets are free to BVRLA leasing broker members and can be secured via the BVRLA website now.
