APRIL 2026 was the strongest month ever recorded for used BYD sales in the UK according to used car market data supplier MarketCheck.
A total of 830 used BYDs were sold during April, the highest monthly figure recorded by MarketCheck and a further sign of the growing presence of the Chinese manufacturer in the UK car market.
The latest figure surpasses the previous record of 640 set in March 2026.
The growth has been particularly striking over the last 18 months. In October 2024, just 33 used BYDs were sold across the UK. By April 2026, monthly sales had risen to 830, highlighting the speed at which the brand has established itself in the second-hand market.
Alastair Campbell, MarketCheck UK, commented: “BYD has gone from being a relatively unknown name in the used car market to one of the fastest-growing brands in the country.
“While the overall numbers remain smaller than more established manufacturers, the rate of growth is strong.”
“The sales figures we’ve seen over the last year are impressive. Record volumes in April continue a trend of growth as more BYD vehicles enter the second-hand market and buyers become increasingly familiar with the brand.”
