IT’S congratulations to Cedric Ratnasingham, promoted to Sales Director at Vanaways after just five years with the Bristol-based van specialist.
Cedric joined Vanaways as a Sales Executive and has progressed through the business, most recently holding the position of General Sales Manager. During this time, he has played a key role in developing the sales function, supporting the growth of the team and helping drive Vanaways’ continued success within the commercial vehicle market.
“It’s a great honour to be stepping into the role of Sales Director, especially within five years. But it’s not just the last five years that have shaped my career, it’s years of experience and hard work. I started in the motor trade at 14, initially working unpaid before progressing through different roles and learning along the way. Every experience has helped me develop and understand the industry better.”

As Sales Director, he will take responsibility for the wider sales operation across Vanaways, including the Bristol Retail team, Bridgend Connect, Fleet and Dorian Domeradzki, the company’s National Account Manager, as well as partnerships with companies across the last-mile delivery and logistics network. His focus will be on ensuring the department continues to achieve and exceed targets, identifying new opportunities for growth and strengthening the commercial strategy that supports the company’s wider ambitions.
Reflecting on his journey with Vanaways, Cedric said the opportunity to join the business originally came from the chance to take on a new challenge and work for a company that was doing things differently. “The team at Vanaways and the growth of the business are what have kept me here. It has been great to be part of the journey and see Vanaways develop into a real disruptor in the market within such a short period of time.”
“The market is constantly changing, with new challenges appearing all the time, whether that’s interest rate changes, vehicle recalls or wider economic pressures. Being able to adapt and think differently allows you to keep progressing when others might not be willing to change. It sounds a cliché, but you also have to be a grafter. Even today, I have no problem picking up the phone and selling a van.”
