Chairman elect of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee, Paul Parkinson, will be hosting the BVRLA Broker Conference on 21 October. Here he outlines what you can expect on the day.

THIS is an excellent opportunity to discuss the issues facing our sector and network with colleagues. With a drinks reception at the end of the day – supported by Fleet Procure –  to  discuss the day’s events and catch up with colleagues.

So what do we have?

We’ll begin with an overview of the work the Leasing Broker Committee has done with the BVRLA to demonstrate the progress made on behalf of all BVRLA approved leasing brokers.

We’ll then move onto a session that will dissect the trends and challenges of doing business in a regulated environment, including a talk from the Financial Ombudsman’s Sarah Conway to catch up on their latest thinking on this ever more relevant subject.

Session three,  on fleets and electrification, will be introduced by EV expert Jon Burdekin. Former committee chair Mike Potter (DriveElectric) will be on the panel along with Claire Osborne from Octopus EV and the always entertaining David Watts (now with electric van maker Arrival).

After lunch we examine the digital transformation of the broker market and the new disruptors, while the afternoon will be wrapped up with what we’ve called a ‘Broker Outlook Panel’ discussing the future market. This will include Richard Chadwick from event sponsor Alphabet discussing issues with a panel of leasing brokers. And after my closing remarks, we’ll all be retiring to the drinks reception.

If you’ve not booked your place for the BVRLA Broker Conference, then please do so. It will be a worthwhile investment of your time and a great opportunity to network with colleagues, funders and suppliers.
