FLEET Alliance is supporting our first ever Broker News Women in Broking Live! event.

Taking place at Angela Hartnett’s Cafe Murano in London on 17 July, the Women in Broking Live! lunch will allow women brokers and suppliers to network informally while enjoying some of Cafe Murano’s delicious Italian creations.

Laura Muir, Head of Appointed Representatives and Partner at Fleet Alliance, says:

“At Fleet Alliance we are passionate about creating equal opportunities for women in our workplace. But we also want to help highlight the opportunities in general for women in the fleet and leasing sector. Events such as Women in Broking Live! help create more awareness of these openings. I would encourage more women to consider a career in our sector.”

One woman who has done just that is the inspirational Alice Altemaire. Attendees to the event will be able to hear from Alice on her career path to become CEO of Mobilize Financial Services and a Director of new multimarque funder Select Lease by Mobilize.

“Alice is a wonderful example of what women can achieve in this sector,“ continues Laura. “It’s certainly a complex industry, but that’s what makes it so compelling and interesting. There’s never a dull day in broking or for the many suppliers that support the sector.“

Fleet Alliance says it is also keen to highlight the responsibility leasing brokers have on the climate and on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda that is becoming a driving force of industry and business.

“We think that electrification is a key part of the broker toolbox, whether this is consulting with fleets on EVs and eLCVs or exploring the opportunities to widen take up of EVs through electric car salary sacrifice schemes,” continues Laura.

“Salary sacrifice is a key opportunity for brokers – it’s the fastest growing vehicle financing method with a 47% growth according to BVRLA’s latest figures. We would encourage all brokers who do not have a proprietary salary sacrifice scheme to consider the advantages of taking up a scheme and enjoying the ongoing sales boom.”

Andy Bruce, CEO of Fleet Alliance, adds: “I think it’s important to take a wider view of the way we operate – collectively as brokers – and how we can influence or help wider society. Creating the right conditions for sustainable mobility is crucial for us, and that includes supporting events that encourage greater diversity such as Women in Broking Live!”

Ralph Morton, Editor of Broker News, added: “I’d like to thank Fleet Alliance for its support in backing Women in Broking Live! and the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity as part of its own ESG agenda. I look forward to welcoming our guests on the day.”
