CAR buying comparison site and leasing deal aggregator Carwow has acquired Wizzle, adding used vehicles to its offering for customers.

Having established itself as one of the market leaders in the online automotive marketplace, Carwow can now connect car dealers and leasing brokers with more than 12.5 million customers that use the service.

Data shows that 79% of Carwow customers have a used car to sell. By adding Wizzle to the group, it will allow drivers to sell their existing vehicle as soon as they’ve configured their new one on Carwow.

Having been created as an app to help car dealers appraise and value used cars, it expanded to move the process online for both dealers and customers.

By adding six to eight photos and answering some questions about the car’s general condition, dealers can review the vehicle before deciding whether to make an offer to buy. Wizzle has more than 2,000 dealers as partners, and over 1,500 cars per month are bought through the platform.

Carwow plans to integrate Wizzle into its new car buying experience this week, which will expand the company’s existing set-up. Until now, Carwow has offered a ‘Sell Your Car’ feature to customers – with more than 1 million valuations in the last year – but it has only been able to provide a single offer from a single buyer. With Wizzle now on-board, this will see multiple offers come through to customers.

Our partners have told us that they want better direct access to high quality used car inventory and this acquisition will allow us to do just that quickly. Wizzle is already powering over 1,500 vehicle sales per month, which we’re aiming to grow exponentially by integrating the service into the main Carwow platform.

“I can’t wait to combine our class-leading technology with the immense reach that Carwow have in the UK and in Germany and Spain. Our companies are two sides of the same coin, with the shared vision to deliver trust, transparency and high-quality services that give dealers an advantage in the digital world.”
