LANCASHIRE leasing broker KeyFleet has been sold to energy company Greenarc for an undisclosed sum today (23 November 2022).

Managing director Marc McLoughlin will sit on the Greenarc board as part of the sale.

We are really excited to welcome KeyFleet to our fast-growing business. Greenarc supports both homes and businesses across the UK with their fuel and low carbon energy services, and with the green evolution a huge priority, being able offer our customers a one stop solution for their fuel, solar, batteries, EV charging points and now their electric vehicles is a great place for us to be.

We’ve worked closely with Marc and the fantastic team at KeyFleet for a number of years and we’re delighted to have them with us on our journey. With their focus on electric vehicles, they were the perfect business to join Greenarc as we continue to grow and develop to become a central figure in the transition to renewable energy and sustainable transport for both the commercial and domestic markets.

Greenarc, part of the Craggs Energy Group based in West Yorkshire, ranks number 14 in the Sunday Times Fastest Growing Private Companies. Greenarc said that the 22-strong KeyFleet team would join the existing businesses within Craggs Energy Group.

Since the business was formed back in 2007 my aim has always been to build a unique business that would genuinely make a difference and I’ve been fortunate enough to attract a highly skilled team that buys into that vision.

In 2020 the advent of ‘electrification’ created an opportunity – one that we grasped with both hands. KeyFleet became a leader in the SME market working with businesses that needed to decarbonise - whether to win new business, recruit and retain staff or reduce taxation and running costs – indeed many factors are in play as we approach 2030 and beyond. The acquisition by Greenarc Ltd allows us to fulfil our full potential as a business by providing both the platform and the resources we need to take advantage of what is no doubt the single biggest opportunity in the fleet sector since the invention of the motor car.

The acquisition of KeyFleet by Greenarc was facilitated by Clarion Solicitors. Tax advice was provided by BHP Chartered Accountants and funding by Barclays Bank.
