CONGRATULATIONS to Paul Parkinson (pictured), the managing director of Synergy Car Leasing, who has been elected as the new vice chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee.
Parkinson replaces Spencer Blake and will serve alongside current chair, Alan Carreras, for the next 12 months, before taking over from Carreras.
Blake, the managing director of Wessex Fleet Solutions, has come to the end of his tenure as vice chair.
Parkinson said that he was delighted and honoured to take up the role, adding that members of the BVRLA benefit from their collective voice, government lobbying and sector policy developments that is brought together by the trade association.
We’ve got some extremely motivated members pooling resources. In my tenure I’m committed to further enhancing engagement with members, as this sector is well positioned to capitalise on the growth of big-ticket online transactions. There are challenges ahead with Brexit and Covid-19 but I believe the BVRLA’s members can navigate the bumpy road ahead more smoothly with the backing of our association, as we work together to support and protect the leasing broker sectors and its customers.

Current chair Alan Carreras, who is the managing director of Bridle Vehicle Leasing, added:

The BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee is made up from a representative cross-section of large and small leasing brokers, including their funder partners.
Its remit is to further improve industry standards, particularly around financial compliance. It shares best practice with members and has been instrumental in several industry-leading initiatives including the introduction and roll-out of online training modules for all brokers to ensure Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) standards are met.

Parkinson has served on the broker committee for the last five years.
