SILVERSTONE Leasing has reached the final shortlist for this year’s SME Northamptonshire Business Awards.
Up for Family Business of the Year prize, the Northampton-based vehicle leasing firm will find out if it is successful later this year, at a prestigious local award ceremony.
Recognising companies that combine business passion and family values, Silverstone Leasing has made the shortlist on the back of schemes such as introducing flexible working to allow staff to meet family commitments.
The system has been introduced within the last 12 months, and Silverstone Leasing has brought in two new part-time team members who work around school hours.
The “family” part of the nomination is more than just an ethos, as managing director Scott Norville has also employed his wife Sophie as the company accountant. Her background in similar roles used to involve nationwide travel and long periods of time away from the family.
All our staff are treated as if they're all family members, and some of them are! It is this culture that leads to our team showing a unique attention to detail rarely seen in dealerships, but that's why our customers keep coming back year after year.
Scott Norville, managing director, Silverstone Leasing Tweet
“Having a family business is just that,” continued Scott. “Run by your family, for your family, and anyone you employ becomes part of your family – it’s a culture that’s grown over the years.
“I think family businesses have a greater sense of inclusion and loyalty than others as it isn’t just about the needs of the business but about the needs of the person too. Everyone has a vested interest in the company doing well and staying strong.
“We are very proud to have been named as a finalist in this category and we can’t wait until the winners are announced in June.”
The final ceremony announcing the winners of the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards 2023 will be held on Thursday 15 June at the Mercure Daventry Court Hotel.
