CONGRATULATIONS to all the runners from Leasing Options who took part in the recent Great Manchester Run 10k race.
The 12 10k-ers from the Manchester leasing broker – pictured above celebrating post-event – did exceptionally well, five finishing the course under the hour, and five achieving personal best times. The Leasing Options runners also managed to raise over £4000 for the company’s chosen specialist bereavement charity, Once Upon a Smile.
Mike Thompson, chief operating officer, who ran in his first ever race, spoke about the team’s latest efforts:
“As a business we have a strong history of supporting Once Upon a Smile. This year alone we have been proud sponsors of its Grand Ball and helped raise more than £15,000 to support its incredible work.
“When I watched some of our support team managers complete the Great Manchester Run half marathon in 2021, it inspired me to sign up. We talk a lot about exceeding expectations and pushing ourselves out of comfort zones and this felt a great way to do that. Fortunately for me, as a family does, several our LO family gathered around and offered to run the race too. I am super proud of them all.
“We’ve supported each other throughout the whole process and the race was no exception. To be able to complete the race together and then celebrate at the end was an incredible feeling and one I know we will all treasure.”
Daniel Jillings, co-founder of Once Upon a Smile, said:
The team at Leasing Options has supported us for over seven years now and it’s brilliant to see so many of them get involved and support us with all the fundraising activities that we do. The amount of money they have collectively raised for us is incredible and will make a huge difference to the work we are doing. We can’t thank them all enough.
