PAUL Parkinson, chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee kicked off proceedings at the BVRLA’s Leasing Broker Conference with some figures about the sector.
And they’re impressive.
“With an accredited total of 403,000 units, we’re the biggest fleet in the FN50. Not only that,” continued Paul, “we’re bigger than the second or third fleets put together.”

Even if you were to take the combined might of the new ALD | Leaseplan financial giant – who were sponsors of the event – the broker fleet would still be ahead by over 80,000 units.
Our fleet is up 27% in a market that is down 30%, so we are growing against the tide. This means we are relevant.
Not such good news was the fact that only 29 brokers responded to the latest broker survey run by the BVRLA.
“I urge you next time to put in a full 10 minutes to complete the survey,” urged Paul to the conference delegates.
The conference was attended by the largest number of delegates ever, with 205 delegates present.
