About the winner
Low Cost Vans, based in Neath, South Wales, was established in 1999. The company started with just two employees and is now one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial vehicles. In 2022, the business rebranded to the lcv group to better reflect its growing offering – which includes cars, fleet management, motorhomes and flexible hire. But continues with its specialism in vans.
What made the lcv group Best Commercial Vehicle Broker?
The judges were impressed with the recent developments at the lcv group, including the rebrand. The rebrand has resulted in every aspect of the business being redesigned – from the website to the offices. The panel liked the vision for the business and the strong focus on staff wellbeing and the working environment.
Customers and people are clearly at the forefront and form vital pillars of the lcv group. Great community initiatives here with a solid environmental, social and governance agenda baked into the business model. Passionate about people and vans, it’s a great combination!
Broker News Awards 2023 judges Tweet
The lcv group stood out for demonstrating excellence across a number of key areas:
People focused
The investment in people within the lcv group team is very evident. Recent enhancements include more flexibility to work remotely, an increase in holidays and provision of a welfare officer who can help with anything from mental health issues to cost of living concerns. The judges noted that the range of staff support has contributed to low staff turnover.
Passionate about customers
All customers who contact the lcv group can speak with a person immediately, and returning customers can ask for their dedicated contact by name. The panel was impressed with the customer feedback and reviews and commented that the personal touch is well received – noting that reviewers often thank individuals by name.
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitment
The lcv group has put in place a number of initiatives to embed its ESG agenda. The judges liked the fact that the business has established an environmental staff team to look at ways to reduce the business footprint – including a cycle to work scheme. In the community, the lcv group holds regular fundraising events for nominated charities and is a founding member of the campaign ‘Everyone Deserves a Christmas’, an annual initiative where the team and their vans help deliver food and drink to those in need.
We are absolutely thrilled to be named Best Commercial Vehicle Broker. Given the strength of the competition and the calibre of the judges it really is something special. 2022 was a milestone for the company in which we underwent a major rebrand and further broadened our range of services. This award is testament to everyone’s hard work and will inspire us to aim even higher in the next 12 months.
