FLEET Packs will include a free resource to help improve driver safety, compliance, and mental health in each of its driver packs.

The company, which provides driver packs for leasing brokers as well as other fleet customers, has teamed up with Highways England and the Driving for Better Business programme to help employees in both private and public sectors to reduce work-related road risk, control costs, and improve compliance with current legislations and guidance.

The resources are free to access and use, and feature handy online tools to help evaluate practices and enhance performance while managing work-related road risk.

Part of the resource covers mental health, teaming up with charity CALM and its CALM Driver programme. With more than 125 people taking their life each week in the UK, 75% of that figure are male and the majority are van and truck drivers.

The other section available is the Van Driver Toolkit, which offers a series of online driver information modules to help van drivers and operators and dispel uncertainty and myths, created in partnership with the National Highways Commercial Vehicle Incident Prevention Team.

The resource has been designed to be passed on in its entirety to the driver, or individual modules can be shared on a driver-by-driver basis. The toolkit will help implement systems to reduce costs, improve operating conditions, and ensure safety for both the vehicles and drivers.
