Select Car Leasing sponsors National Motor Museum exhibition

A MAJOR exhibition at the National Motor Museum – which offers a fascinating look at how the future of the motor car was imagined in the past – is being sponsored by Select Car Leasing.

Called Motopia? Past Future Visions, the exhibition looks at concepts from the past, ideas that have become reality and future visions for automobility.

The exhibition runs from 20 May 2023 until 14 April 2024 at the museum, located at Beaulieu in the New Forest, Hampshire.

The event will display landmark vehicles like the plug-in hybrid Volkswagen XL1, the forward-thinking yet ill-fated Sinclair C5, as well as a Columbia Electric vehicle first built more than a century ago in 1901.

We are delighted to be the lead sponsor of the National Motor Museum’s first headline exhibition. The vehicle leasing industry is currently undergoing a radical transition into electric mobility. Echoes of this dramatic change reverberate around the Motopia exhibition, as visitors will discover how the electrification of transport was originally conceived many decades ago. Car design is, of course, constantly in flux – with innovation heralding more efficient and sustainable drivetrains – and we look forward to working with the National Motor Museum in the coming months to highlight how the car continues to shape people’s lives.

The Motopia? Past Future Visions exhibition will have four key themes:

vehicle visions will look at car design concepts;
propulsion asks how our vehicles are powered – particularly timely when there is a resurgence of electric vehicles;
architectural dreams which will include science fiction visions; and
urban solutions showing how vehicles have constantly been re-imagined to suit our needs and surroundings.
