- PCH enquiries up 5% y-on-y
- SMMT private market down 14% y-on-y
- Nissan Qashqai remains most searched for vehicle
- Demand exceeds usual seasonal slump
THE SMMT’s private registration figures for December showed a big tail off – down 14% – although the overall picture for the year was flat.
But the demand for personal leasing looks more energised.
Leasing.com reports that the seasonal decline in demand that is typical of December was less pronounced with sustained consumer demand for new vehicle leasing all the way up to the weekend before Christmas.
Total enquiries on the leasing aggregator site were up 5% compared with December 2022.
The Nissan Qashqai again topped our league table of the most enquired on vehicles – just like it did for the whole of 2023 – followed by the Volkswagen Golf with the Volkswagen T-Roc in third place. It was a limited batch of the Volkswagen ID.Buzz though that really caught the imagination of our audience with PCH offers on the electric people-carrier starting from as little as £296 per month.

Market watch special: VW ID.Buzz
There were exceptional offers on the Volkswagen ID.Buzz reports Leasing.com. Some limited stock availability saw some brilliant leasing offers for this funky EV starting at under £300.
