Alphabet partners with English Heritage
BROKER funder and mobility provider Alphabet has partnered with national charity, English Heritage. It has been appointed as sole supplier for the 33-strong English Heritgae fleet of cars and vans.
From world-famous prehistoric sites like Stonehenge to mighty medieval castles, English Heritage cares for over 400 monuments, buildings, and places. Blending education and entertainment, the charity is famed for its immersive events, all of which take place against the backdrop of iconic historical landmarks across the country and bring the story of England to life for millions of visitors each year.
Danny Forrest, procurement manager at English Heritage, said: “We needed a mobility provider with a wealth of public sector experience who could deliver an efficient and cost-effective solution. Alphabet has operated as an extension of our team from day one, recommending process improvements and pinpointing areas where savings can be made as well as providing ongoing support to help us future-proof our fleet. With a dedicated account manager and easy-to-use digital systems, we’re saving time and expense too.”
BVRLA launches three-point plan for fleet decarbonisation at Parliamentary reception
THE BVRLA launched a three point plan for fleet aimed at letting government understand the industry’s needs on the road to decarbonisation.
The Future of Fleets Manifesto was launched last night as part of the association’s Parliamentary Reception event. It was attended by several leasing brokers – including new chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee Rod Lloyd – as well as funders, fleet specialists and MPs.
Addressing guests at the event, Toby Poston, BVRLA director of corporate affairs (pictured), said: “With a general election on the horizon, our voice needs to be heard now to influence the transport policies of tomorrow. Our Future of Fleets Manifesto outlines the pathways to a successful transition and where the government should be playing an active role.
“Greater certainty around tax and regulation will provide the clarity that fleets need to carry on investing in the transition. By focusing on the key pain points we can unleash a new wave of zero emission transport use cases. With more fairness we will ensure that no road users are left behind.”
The Future of Fleets Manifesto 2024 is split into three critical asks:
- Certainty: reinforce the foundations
- Focus: support commercial vehicles
- Fairness: leave none behind
New ALD | LeasePlan business Ayvens hits half-a-million EVs on the road
THE newly named Ayvens says it has reached a historical milestone of half-a-million funded EVs on the road. The company said this confirmed its position as the largest multi-brand EV fleet worldwide.
In the UK, the combined ALD Automotive | LeasePlan fleet hit the number one spot in the FN50 last week.
At the end of 2022, ALD Automotive and LeasePlan operated a combined fleet of 380,000 EVs. In less than nine months, Ayvens says it has increased that figure to 500,000. “This significant increase illustrates the effectiveness of Ayvens’ business model in facilitating the adoption of EVs, notably in corporate fleets, and confirms its leading role in the transition to sustainable mobility,” said an Ayvens spokesperson.
