Effective partnerships key to building success

From CBVC Fleet Management partnering with LV=ElectriX and Wessex Fleet delivering technology for Snows Direct, leasing brokers are continually finding new ways to develop partnerships on a variety of levels. And now we have Chris Jakeways’ Vanaways outfit partnering with Toolstation. It will deliver vans to tradespeople through an Automotus designed website, as well as at point of sale. It demonstrates what a valuable role leasing brokers can play in the automotive market.

Not that all OEMs value the broker channel in the same way. Mercedes-Benz has made it clear that under its agency agreement starting 2023 there’s no room for brokers. And as our interview with JLR’s Andrew Jago suggests, agency for JLR will probably see brokers left out in the cold, too.

Should the broker channel worry? Well, yes, always: offering all vehicles has always been a broker strongpoint. But building relationships in other areas – like the Vanaways/Toolstation partnership – suggests brokers will continue to play a significant role in the market as they find more innovative routes to market.
