WITH just over a month to go until the BVRLA’s Leasing Broker Conference returns, the full agenda has been confirmed, showcasing the breadth of topics being covered to keep delegates a step ahead.
Chair of the association’s Leasing Broker committee, Paul Parkinson, will open proceedings with the latest sector stats to set the scene for the day ahead.
After Paul, a panel of experts will look at the issue front and centre of everybody’s minds: Consumer Duty. Ahead of the new duty coming into force from 31 July this year, the panel will share advice in bite-sized chunks for brokers to put into immediate practice, while drawing on the steps taken by other segments to give rounded guidance and food for thought.
The first of two keynote speakers is Brian Hilliard. A popular inclusion on the 2022 agenda, Brian will again present the UK’s financial health and the likely trends to be mindful of in the coming months.
The role of AI and leasing brokers
After a short coffee break and networking opportunity, delegates will hear from a speaker working with the latest technologies, encompassing the rapidly developing world of AI. A short presentation will be followed by a Q&A to give further insights on how brokers can benefit from the ever-evolving technology – use of the technology helped Nationwide Vehicle Contracts to become the Broker News Broker of the Year.
Another returning slot is the Industry Outlook panel. It will bring together leading voices from across the leasing broker landscape, including funders, to take a deeper look at the current trends and what opportunities may arise through the remainder of 2023. Chaired by Paul Parkinson, the panel will field questions from the audience to help brokers develop future-proof strategies.
Entrepreneur’s keynote: brands with a purpose
Closing the formal agenda will be a keynote speech from David Hieatt. An entrepreneur in the purest sense of the word, David Hieatt’s expertise lies in creativity, fashion, business and teamwork. David will draw from his experiences to talk about ‘brands with a purpose… why they do better and matter more’, drawing parallels with the challenges faced by leasing brokers and offering fresh solutions to overcome them.
A drinks reception – sponsored by Fleet Procure – will give delegates another chance to catch up with colleagues and share their learnings from the day.
